Congratulations to our own Katie Ogata, who presented her research in September at the California Psychological Association Conference. Her research detailed perceived vs actual outcome of treatment for teenagers, comparing online, hybrid and inperson treatment modalities. While teenagers (n=80) believed at a statistically significant rate that inperson treatment would have better outcomes, we found at the OC Anxiety Center that there were no differences across outcomes for the three groups (n=39). There were some potential reasons why this may be (notably that we did not randomly assign treatment groups, the high success rate of our patients across all groups, and small n-size), and we look forward to continuing our research to hone our craft and inform others of what treatments work well. Again, congratulations Katie!
