There is no quick fix for anxiety and OCD issues

There isn’t a secret that will make someone feel calm and relaxed.  Think about weight loss: is there really one trick that will really help someone loss 5 lbs in a week, or one superfood that will tone your butt, a 5 minute exercise routine that will give you a flat stomach or double your muscle mass?  To lose fat and maintain a healthy weight means a lifestyle change not just simply making a minor tweak to one’s life.

Treating anxiety disorders is the same

There’s research that guides us in efficacious treatment approaches to help treat patients.  As we teach skillset, patients need to learn and use them.  Once learned, they need to be used.  Regularly.  Consistently.

Yes, I can take a shortcut: I can run away from my fears, leave the situation or ignore the problem.  I’ll feel better in the moment, but it just makes it harder the next time I face the issue. But if I really want lasting change, I need to put in lasting work to achieve it.  The law of the conservation of energy is a good parallel: the effort I put into dealing with my anxiety will equal the outcome.  No gimmicks, no tricks, just hard work based on science.  If you’re ready to work, we’re ready to work with you.
